Rescue & Safety

The Sörmland Coast Rescue Service

We live in a changing society, where activities and the risks they
entail are continually changing. At the Rescue Service, we have experience anticipating and preventing all different kinds of accidents. We are also trained to take measures when an accident is a fact.

That may all be well and good, you might think, but we know from experience that if we stand a chance of influencing accident statistics, everyone in society has to have a greater awareness of risks and solid knowledge about preventing accidents and about measures to limit injuries. Education and information are a good start to greater awareness of the risks.

Have you entered the ICE (IN CASE OF EMERGENCY) number in your mobile phone?

Enter the telephone number of the person closest to you in the telephone book of your mobile phone under the name “ICE” with the name of that person. Then rescue and healthcare staff can quickly find the number and contact the person closest to you if you happen to have an accident or suddenly fall seriously ill. This simple but brilliant idea comes from Britain and is now quickly spreading around the world.  ´

Do the following:

In the telephone book of your mobile phone, enter “ICE” then “First name” “Last name” or “mother”, “brother” etc. under the heading “Names”. Under “Telephone numbers” write the number of the person that should be contacted with a plus sign and 46, the prefix for calling Sweden from abroad. This way, the number works by pushing a button no matter what country you are in. Leave out the first 0 in the Swedish dialing code. For mobile phones with the dialing code 070, it will look like this: +4670xxxxxxxx.
