Culture & Leisure
In Nyköping, there’s a great deal to do in your free time. We have a well-stocked library and in the same building, Culturum, which incidentally has won awards for its fine architecture, there are concert halls and conference facilities. On the other side of the courtyard is the Children’s Cultural Centre and the Gripe Museum of Toy Theatres, where we arrange all kinds of children’s activities, ranging from princess days to break dancing and art school for children.
At Rosvalla Sport and Event Centre, you’ll find just about everything for sport enthusiasts. You can go bowling or play tennis; there are some nice outdoor lawns and areas for playing boules. And in the winter, you can go long-distance ice skating or play hockey, of course!
The old brewery, Bryggeriet, offers cultural activities and also provides space for furniture upholsterers, designers and artists. Each spring, a little cultural festival is held here.
Slakthuset, a venue for young people, was formerly a slaughterhouse, thus giving it its Swedish name. It holds classes and activities for children and young adults who like music, drama and art. There is also an indoor climbing wall.
